February 21, 1933 - April 21, 2003

We need some Nina, some Nina Simone around here daddy.

At he 50s, in Philadelphia, there was this black woman, the girl.
The girl was born in Mississippi Goddam. You know, everyvoby knows about Mississippi Goddam.
She used to serve tables at Mississipi Goddam .
She had gone from Mississipi to Philadelphia. And that is her story,
Her boyfriend Joe, was a fit guy, well known in the city, had some businees deals of some kind. Was black, a black fit guy, and that is about that about Joe. The man would never, never and never leave Mississipi Goddam.
Poor Joe, the girl, this pretty black cute big ass girl, with a pretty, pretty, pretty smile, wanted more, more, more than Mississipi Goddam.
After a crime comited in Mississipi Goddam, the girl, she was, she was feeling so low. She was working, her heart was working, but there something wrong going.
You know folks, she had a life a millionare, sharing her money, she didnt care. And Joe, oh, oh, oh poor Joe felt he was about to lose his cute , cute, cute big ass girl.
Ne me quite pas! Ne me quite pas! Ne me quite pas.
But she, she was leaving, and now, folks were feeling so low. The girl from Joe’s. They were greeting, and they were, yes there were, consoling poor Joe.
They going to miss her songs, gonna miss, miss, miss her smile, she is dragging to this long, long mile.
Now, she is down, the girl is down and all.
And they, oh they say everything can be replace, see I dont believe that, but I think he must have another lover, another lover undercover.
And now, she is blue, oh mama, she always got the blues, some blacklash blues. She tried to find a job, to earn a little cash, oh the world is big, and its full of blokes like me, like black, oh I got the blues. I wanst feeling good, I mean no evil, but dont know what to do, that is the reason Im going black and blues.
Oh tell me baby, telll me baby mama, what do I supose to do?! His got another woman now, mah fit, fit fit, black. Mama, help me mama I got the blues.
Go to hell.
Any day now, any day now, I shall be realeased.
I want some sugar hun, some sweet down in my throat.
We need some Nina daddy, some Nina in our soul baby daddy. Daddy, what is the matter?! Save my soul, give me some Nina, Nina in our soul Daddy. Nina for lovers baby, only for lovers, daddy.

Nina is young, gifted and black.
